Recognize and report phishing in Outlook
Be suspicious when a message creates urgency, asks for a password or payment, contains an unexpected QR code or attachment, or changes normal payment instructions.
- Do not click links, scan QR codes, open attachments, reply, or call a phone number in the message.
- In Outlook, select the message and choose Report > Phishing or Report Junk > Phishing, depending on the Outlook version. If no reporting option is available, leave the message untouched and contact IT in a new message.
- If the message appears to come from a coworker or vendor, verify through a known phone number or a new message—not by replying to the suspicious email.
If you clicked, opened, replied, entered information, or approved an unexpected Authenticator prompt: contact IT immediately at USSITSupport@universalsiteservices.com. If the mailbox may be compromised or email is unavailable, call your manager, office, or dispatch and ask them to contact IT. Do not wait to see what happens.
